our spacious room overlooked the golf course and the landscape beyond, A room facing the houses, magnificent as they are, would be grim. The beds were comfy and the room had robes, iron, T & C, hairdryer, everything you need for a relaxing stay.
There is a lovely river walk starting near the hotel by the ruined Abbey, into town and back and as we got a mild Autumn day we did that rather than go to the pool. The Hill of Tara is close by and well worth a visit.,
Dinner was included and we ate in Rococco restaurant. The set menu was limited but the food was well cooked, if a bit plain, but tasty and 3 courses plus tea or coffee was good value, but too much food!
