Knightsbrook News - Top Talent at Irish Open

At Knightsbrook Hotel Spa and Golf Resort, we are already getting excited about the Solheim Cup, which is scheduled to take place in September.

This popular event, taking place at Killeen Castle, will host the top female golfing talent from Europe and the USA as they go head-to-head. September still feels like a lifetime away though, but don't worry - the Irish Open will provide you with the golfing action you're craving in the meantime. As an added bonus, you will be able to check out Stacey Lewis, Angela Stanford and Christina Kim of the USA, who are likely to feature in the Solheim Cup as well.

The trio currently lead the list of American candidates for the Solheim Cup, and will demonstrate their skills in Ireland at the Irish Open from 5-7 August. This should provide them a decent opportunity to get accustomed to golfing in Ireland as they prepare for the Solheim Cup main event.

Lewis is currently third in the USA standings after she reigned supreme at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Stanford has participated in the Solheim Cup on three occasions and currently holds sixth place in the standings. Kim is a favourite among the fans and will be hoping to hold onto the 10th and final automatic qualification position in the standings.
