KNIGHTSBROOK COURSE - HOLE BY HOLE

1st Hole Par 4 420 yards

At over 420 yards this will be one of the finest and testing first holes in the country, with a natural out of bounds running all along the left hand side, this hole makes for a very demanding par four.

2nd Hole Par 4 415 yards

Another testing par four, drive should be kept right of centre to give the best view of the green through mature trees to a well guarded green with out of bounds to its left. Par four here is a bonus.

3rd Hole Par 3 142 yards

This may be one of the easier holes on the course once you avoid hitting your tee shot left in the water. A par should be very achievable here.

4th Hole Par 5 515 yards

This hole runs along the Knightsbridge River and has to be crossed with the drive. This is truly a three shot hole with the green nestled behind some mounds. Take a par here and be happy.

5th Hole Par 3 168 yards

The longest par three on the golf course, a lake in front which runs from tee to green will make for a well earned par three.

6th Hole Par 5 530 yards

Second of the par fives on the front nine, your drive should be struck with a slight draw to avoid the bunker, edging out into the fairway on the left hand side. Your second shot has to be given some consideration as there is an open ditch running across the fairway at the 400 yard mark, shrewd thinking will give you a fair chance of a birdie at this par five.

7th Hole Par 4 389 yards

One of the shortest par four’s on the course. The emphasis is on your tee shot which may not require your driver to give you the perfect approach to this elevated green and a real birdie chance.

8th Hole Par 4 448 yards

This is the first real dog leg on the front nine, do not try to bite off too much of the corner as the out of bounds line comes into play. With your drive well placed the green is a welcoming target for a well struck second shot.

9th Hole Par 4 396 yards

A well placed drive to the right hand side of the fairway will give a full view of this raised green which is overhung by a large mature tree on the left hand side. Don’t be disappointed with a par four.

10th Hole Par 4 384 yards

Hopefully you will have negotiated the outward nine to your satisfaction. This par four should set you up for the back nine as it is not too long and straight hitting here should guarantee you an easy par.

11th Hole Par 4 430 yards

Your drive here is very important, avoiding the lake on the left hand side and the bunkers to the right this golf hole also requires a well directed second shot over a river, take four and run.

12th Hole Par 4 437 yards

One of the key holes of the back nine due to its length and testing green. A well struck drive aimed slightly left will give you a chance of hitting this green and present you with an opportunity of achieving a par four at this hole. Do not be disappointed with a drop shot here.

13th Hole Par 5 495 yards

First of the par five’s on the back nine, the premium here is getting your tee shot slightly left of centre to allow you to thread your second shot through a narrow gap of mature trees. This will then set your pitch up to an elevated green and an outside birdie chance.

14th Hole Par 4 444 yards

Truly one of the great holes on this testing course measuring 444 yards your drive must be aimed at the right side of the fairway to set up a demanding second shot to a water guarded green on the right hand side. Take four here and hold your head high.

15th Hole Par 4 393 yards

One might think they were in Florida rather than Ireland here, this hole requires a demanding drive to avoid water all along the left hand side and give you an excellent chance to cross the water front right and short to this seriously good par four.

16th Hole Par 3 170 yards

First of the par three’s on the inward nine, choosing the right club here is half the battle and avoiding the lake to the right hand side a par here should be achievable.

17th Hole Par 5 540 yards

Emphasis should be on hitting a good drive on this scenic par five with mature trees and bunkers on the right. A lake runs all along the second part of this hole which guards the elevated green. A par here is no mean achievement.

18th Hole Par 3 175 yards

Although seldom does a golf course end with a par three, the 18th at Knightsbridge fits like a glove at over 175 yards your tee shot must find this stone faced green. To make par you have earned a well deserved pint at the 19th.
